The history of Lebanon's foreign aid

Following the Civil War, numerous states and organizations provided aid to Lebanese public institutions to foster the country’s economic, institutional, and social development. While compounding crises have severely diminished the government's capacity to fund basic public services, including road maintenance, water supply, and electricity, a significant number of donors have retracted their support or conditioned it to structural reforms that the political elite continues to delay.
